On Monday I resolved to begin exercising, again. Even though I am a holistic health coach, I loathe exercising!
But I think I might have found something that I enjoy enough to remain committed to for more than a couple of weeks. My local YMCA has zumba classes. I attended a zumba toning which is zumba with weights. I have been reading and learning that if people start with cardio exercise like jogging or cycling, they are less likely to stick with it because they don’t have the muscle mass to sustain the activity. Hmm… perhaps that was part of my issue…
This morning I actually got my butt out the door and attended a “regular” zumba class. Now, you’ve got to understand that I am a dance retard so I spent the entire class a step or a half-step behind but I didn’t care. I was smiling. Yes, that’s right, I was actually smiling and sweating at the same time. I think this might be a first!
I plan to try pilates tomorrow so we’ll what that’s like. I’ve never been to pilates in my life. I practiced yoga for 2 years so I hope I like it…
My goal for this week is to make it to the gym at least 3 times, ideally 5. I think I’ll hit in the middle at 4, but we’ll see.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I had so much fun in these 2 zumba classes that I can’t wait to go back!
